I am looking at getting into a GT3RS, now I need to sell my car (Mk2 GT3) but will only sell it after I have found the right car.

Now I don't want to p/ex it as I don't like being bent over and don't need to cash from mine for the purchase.

But I have only got one garage space and can't keep both at home while I sell my original 3.

What is the deal with Sale or return, how much do the dealers usually take for themselves?

TIA

Avro Motor Cars have sold several of my old cars on SoR and used to charge me a fixed £1800. Got me good money for all of them. Not a Porsche specialist and tend to deal with 'must have' cars normally, but might be worth a try. There are lots of Porsche specialist that should offer a similar deal? Main dealers are a waste of time for SoR IMHO.

Have a look at our selling guide on the website. It`s a bit of a read and it covers all aspects of selling but there is a section on sale or return. Some people find it a great solution. Others end up with serious problems and tend to keep quiet as they feel silly for getting caught.

Ultimately the only thing you save as a dealer is the cost of stocking a car. Work out the cost of stocking your car for say 2 months, Probably £4-500.

Hope that helps (scroll down to the "selling to a dealer" section).

Sorry forgot to add an important bit on my post.. being SOR the dealer still had to put it through a full check as they are liable if a fault turns up post sale, so you might have to fix something or put tyre/ brakes on it out of your pocket!
