About £6,500 - 7,000.
You are scaring me ,don't look at average price on these, condition and most importantly maintenance history is crucial.Someone has to pay for the maintenance if the last owner didn't then it will be you.
It is a lot of car, more details as in manual/auto mileage and colour to help with pricing..
You seriously can't buy or worse think you are buying one of these on the cheap.
They are a fantastic car and when in top notch running order it is difficult to imagine a better trans continental express.Just be sure you want one first, before you even think purchase price.

white is not great, most are autos which is fine....
not enough to go on mate to be fair. You really need to check out all of the service history as in services belts etc....consider that a decent engine rebuild on a GTS will cost more than the purchase price!!!
I know of a guy who had to give his car to the engine rebuilder as he couldn't afford it in the end.
This is from last months Porsche post mag
928 S4 auto LHD 1989 Silver metallic warranted 49k miles with full porsche service history and bills from new,all options & 2 owners from new - £6,950.

A good low mileage GTS will be around £20k. A good S4 around £10k. Buy on condition and service history, not mileage. There's a buyer's guide at www.928.org.uk and a useful email list *

The 928 GTS is IMHO the best 928 ever produced - ISTR 330 bhp and to date is the fastest auto I've driven. The 928 looks pretty good in white IMHO again, as it's got a purity of line beaten only by the very first non-spoilered 928 of 1977.
It's pretty difficult to thrash the nuts off an auto and as an lhd daily driver this sounds a good bet, if a little large in girth for B road driving mind you!
I haven't checked, but I doubt you'll get an rhd GTS for even double that price.
So what to look out for? Service history of course, and make 100% sure all electrics work, including seats and obviously aircon. It's the electrics that kill these cars - Ive seen examples where virtually the only stuff still working is the electric windows. Check it isn't too wallowy at the front either - the suspension can get tired on higher mileage cars
In summary then - best of the breed (excluding the GT which is a more rawer experience but can be had in rhd for sub £10k now), but colour may not be to everyone's taste and its lhd. On that basis, I'd go and look at it. Drive it and you'll see why I rate them
