Hi There,

Can anyone tell me if a amp wih a part no. 986.645.311.00 will be ok for replacing one wih he part no. 996.645.311.00?

Seems like one is for a Boxster and the other a 911, but is there any actual difference?

Cheers,

Richard

i cant say for definite...

but does a boxster and 911 have the same number of speakers? (I Think mine has 6), which may influence outputs etc?

Looking at the part numbers it looks a reasonable assumption. The wiring diagrams for both cars are about half way down the page here. I can't see Porsche producing two physically different parts.

Thanks for that,

I know my 911 has 6 outputs for the 6 speakers - not sure what a Boxster has though.

Depends on which sound package it was originally supplied with.

A Boxster usually has a 4 channel amp and thus the 986 part number.
