First we hear the 993 suffers from RMS problems..

Then it seems owners desperate to keep prices as inflated as possible..

now it seems owners are reducing prices on their cars left right and centre to sell before prices collapse:
www.pistonheads.com/sales/120864.htm

Quick - if you have a 993, you better sell it now for rock bottom prices or you'll be stuck with a worthless lump of metal without a manufacturers extended warranty..

and if your thinking of buying a 993, hold off till the summer, you'll be able to pick them up for the price of a used kia!

This post is somewhat tongue in cheek following all the 'tumbling prices' and 'problematic' 996 threads going around

At least in part, it's basic supply and demand - there were far fewer 993s made than 996s.

Congratulations on just re-opening a mahooooosive can of worms biglaugh

That's the rub, though, isn't it? Some people just prefer something air-cooled. Some people prefer a vehicle with less electronics. It doesn't make 993s "better". But it does make them different and rarer. I reckon 993s will always be worth real money with their "last of the air-cooled" cachet. Doesn't mean a 996 is a worse car - just one that may be cheaper!

With over a 40 year devlopment span there is a 911 variant out there to suit most enthusiasts, depends on your exact requirements to narrow down the right car.

And if you don't like any of those there is always the 996 for buyers who don't want a 911 laugh

I disagree, on this topic the worms never have enough time to get back in the can again

Sadly, the drop poor build quality and comparatively poor reliablity with the 996 does make the 993s and earlier 964/3.2 etc "better" for many. Buying a 911 used to mean you owned a car cast iron record for reliability and over-engineering.

OK didn't mean to open the tin, just curiuos as the misses has always hankered after a 911 so I keep a watching brief on them. re the last of teh air cooled I assume the same can of wiggly things goes for the 964 being the last of the proper 911 looking car too .
