Have a 965 Turbo II and a flat tyre. Can't find the key (not a slipover) to the bog standard (for the year) Locking wheel nuts. Not wanting to drill them off does anyone know any less drastic method or if anyone can supply a key

Hi there, if yours are the alloy nut with the magnesium sleeve and the steel lock system that pushes in from the end Email me there is a way to get them off.

Unfortunately unless your very lucky you won't get a key and you will need new locking nuts afterwards but they are obtainable even in the original style used.

This happened on my Golf and my local garage removed them for a small fee. I know its not a Porsche but one set of locking nuts and the same as another.

No design is different on the early style locking nut, the traditional removers or hammering a socket on dont work.

There is an easy way though.

Was really desperate so got the closest socket and wacked it on with a hammer, its OK if wheel nuts are not too tight and as a one off,

Otherwise most tool shop do removal sockets which have teeth in them to grab hold of the wheel bolt.

Try a call to the OPC, they might be able to help......I know it's different, but they found the socket to my locking wheel nuts as there are a few combinations...... I drove down there and they did their work.#

im advised that sticking a wedge within a normal wrench should do the job - just need neough to get a bot of friction...

good luck
