Your first Porsche?????
Discussion
1985 3.2 targa carrera. Guards red.
I was 25 and just split up with a long term girlfriend. (no psychoanalysts please)
Needless to say both were two of the best things to ever happen to me.
Miss that car badly and have an urge to get another from that era if i get enough garage space one day.

Bought my first porsche new in march 06, 997 c2s in guards red with loads of spec.
I have to say I think its fantastic..I do torture myself with it though (must be a weirdo) I havent driven it since November, its all tucked up and Zymoled ready for spring. I just stare at it a couple of times a week. I also have (dont laugh) a new 110 defender for the winter, chalk and bloody cheese or what!! Still it keeps the 911 extra extra special.
I would like to get into the air cooled world next year, but christ I am more confussed than ever reading the stuff on here...its a bloody mine field. Also buying new is easy, test drives etc, how do I know I would like the older cars??? Having said that I did own a Lotus Elise, and that was mega fun, and I also have a concours british racing green MK2 3.4 manual Jag, which is hugley rewarding to drive and very different...bombs along though for an old world cup winner...1966!! I may have to sell the Jag to fund the different 911, have to see I guess. Cant wait to get my 911 to europe this year, Ive only done 4.8 k in her but I will be putting plenty on in the summer months.

964C2. Had it for about 4 years, sold it about 4 years ago. Still hurts as I loved it (and spent the gdp of small 3rd world country maintaining/upgrading it).
Blkrokt - Im currently after your exact car! If you bought through the trade I'd be interested to know your experience, if possible.
cheers

Those early 911s certainly were good teachers , I had a LHD 2.2 911E in Orange ( BML 29H) . I drove to Margate from South London , roughly 90 miles pre motorway in 1976 on a Sunday morning, had to be there for the birth of my daughter.Made it in an hour and a half.
In 1990 I bought my first Porsche, a gun metal grey 1982 911 SC. The car was everything I had hoped it would be, well except for front screen demisting !
It was always serviced by Ken and Ken from mobile 911, I remember them taking the engine out to change the clutch in my Mum's front garden. I ran it for 4 years and sold it to a mate for what I had paid for it.
Good times.
