I'm looking at having this fitted to the old girl, but my local indie has warned me that it can be 'a bit of a pain for regular road use' i.e. rock hard.

Can anyone give me an opinion on this?

BTW I'll be staying with 17" wheels.

I had it fitted to my C4 last year. It's firm but not uncomfortable with 17" wheels. I had the M030 anti roll bars fitted also. Turn in and response are markedly improved.

You really need to sit in a car with it fitted and make your own assessment. What's firm to one occupant can be unbearable for another.

Lots of stuff posted here about it as well as the PCGB forum.

I think they'll be fine for road use; your current shocks may be quite knackered without your knowing it and the ride AND handling could improve. Did it on my 993tt 2 years ago and that was the net result so no regrets.

Its a bit hard on 18" wheels but nothing like as hard as on a 964 on 17" wheels with the same setup. I would have thought that staying on 17" wheels would make it a damn fine ride.

I changed mine just before Christmas - Bilstein HD shocks, 23mmF/21mm R rollbars and lowered another half inch. It works well but is a bit hard so I am just playing about with tyre pressures to get a good compromise. 44psi in the rear 18" tyres is unacceptable but on the 36psi that the the 17" wheels need, I wouldn't envisage any problem.

If these are the standard fitment to the RS then it's a bit harsh over the severest of pot holes and uneven roads but the feedback is worth it.

IIRC RS has very different springs and dampers.

Totally agree. Whilst my car is firmer with the Bilsteins amd M030 it is far better controlled over bumps, the net effect is a more comfortable ride.

Thanks for the opinions chaps.

I don't mind a firm ride, but I was worried I'd end up with something that was unsuitable for our british roads.

My old 993 was M030'd and was fine on road - just as stiffly sprung as you would expect without being a teeth knocker outer. Bit crashy sometimes on big bumps.
