Should not be a problem it would have to be orderd through an OPC and from what i understand they need the number of the shell that it is replacing as to cost dont have a clue but less than 40% of cars value as OPC body shops have re shelled quite a few I saw 2 being done at Solus a couple of years ago both were insurance jobs.

worth joining PCGB to get the discount off parts for this number...

would be amazed if 996 shells were not available, guess your are going to need a few panels / glass as well,

Be worth getting a quote for everything you need in one lump.

BTW - seen some amazing repair jobs done on shells - if its borderline.

9M has the facilities across the water from you

hope this helps !

25k .. not exactually cheap... id say the labour would be very expensive...wonder how long a good garage would take to reshell a car...obviously depends on how easy the sprip of the donor car..

Very much doubt they are as much as £25K. I would guess at nearer £15K. Maybe I have missed the point somewhere, was it that you totalled your GT2 and are thinking of reshelling it ?.
Speak to guys like Baz at Hartech and I am sure they will give the same advice. DO NOT DO IT GO BUY ANOTHER GT2.
Lets say that you have a brand new shell thats just been painted to your spec and you have your donor car sitting next to it. It sounds relatively straight forward to take the bits of one car and swap to the new shell. In practise it is incredibly time consuming and things tend to break. Labour cost alone I would hazard a guess at £15,000, plus parts and problems and in truth it will never be the same as a factory built car and what would it be registered as, a Cat D write of ?. If you were going the totally stripped out race car route then that might make a little more sense. However the inherant value of the car is still seriously compromised and in what race series would the car be eligible to compete in.
Just one example of personal experience. They were four guys that wanted to build a narrow bodied 3.2 carrera race car with a 3.3 turbo engine. It was said that we could do this for £20K. (5K each) The shell was £2000, the engine was £2500 and the gearbox was £1000. so thats £5500. When it was finally all put together and ready to race it had cost £36,000. God knows where all the money went but I had five A4 pages of parts that went into it.

It would be worth speaking to mark at 9M if you're considering this ( and my advice is don't consider it) as they've a fair amount of experience in building cars from the shell upwards.

Best guess for cost is; labour at 400hrs x whatever rate garage charges + price of shell + VAT + price of your salvage = price of original mint unmolested GT2, which the rebuilt one won't be of course.

It may be worth speaking to Mike Goy at Carlton Porsche. He has been rebuilding Porsches for the last 30 years. I know they have repaired a number of well bent GT2's. 01924 444802

The figures dont add up in england...car shell say 20k plus 15k parts plus 15k parts plus hastle = nearly what you can buy a good one for about 60k. Im in ireland were my gt2 is walued at 135-140k so it might be worth someones time to undertake such a project over here... you would have the car for about 70k euro on road taking that the salvage of car off insurance company was 10k... Im sure car would be never right.. a friend of mine reshelled a new m5 over here after a roll on a golf course... cost about 55k to reshell on a car worth 135k over here...

Would you not be better off to just sell your GT2 engine, bite the bullet and get a new one ? The engine is without a doubt the most valuable part of your car, and seem relatively untouched by the damage.

(By the way, by an extraordinary set of circumstances, I happened to have seen your GT2 2 weeks ago in a hangar in Naas....Coincidences....)
