Hello all

My first post on here....

I have just bought a 2001 Boxster S. I have had a couple of Lotus' in the past (Elan M100 and Elise), and decided I am now getting to the point where I want a car that is quick, handles, but is also refined. The S delivers on all 3 and I'm more than happy.

The car I have bought has a dodgy climate control panel and the LCD screen has leaked and the numbers are unreadable. I have seen a few replacement units selling on ebay for under £100. Does anyone know if these units are easy to swap? They look as easy as replacing a car stereo. Does anyone have any advice?

Cheers

yes just pull surround off around the unit and its held in with phillips screws , just pulls out when screws removed..

seem to remember something about radios going into a protect mode as the chassis number is coded into the ac panel and every now and then the radio checks the panel and if the code is not correct the radio says "protect" .... but sure you should be fine with out worrying....
