Have been offered 5% APR on a PCP. To me that sounds like a great rate. Is there anything that I also need to be aware of ?

deal is:
£50k car
£15k deposit
£450pcm * 48mths
£21.5k final payment/balloon

cheers

Is that fixed or variable and what is being quoted as the flat rate?

Unless he is selling you the car and is making some money via that path then you are probably being offered 5% flat as opposed to 5%APR.

That sounds about right most of the PCPs we do at Honda are around 5% flat

5% APR is roughly 2-3% flat, no one will be offering that flat rate unless it is a subsidised deal!

With the current base interest rate up near 5% then 2-3% over base or circa 8% seems to be on the table now - but not much at 5% apr unless its subsidised on a brand new car e.g. fiat pushing punto sales.

It's definately 5% APR. As I said, it's a mate I've used for a number of years and have financed several cars through. Im happy to put anyone in touch with him.

I cannot believe it, so to speak as he is effectively offering interest free credit if the base rate as as 5%...

Could you please send me his details?

I'm getting a flat rate HP on my GT3. You end up paying more interest with a balloon payment at the end so not bothered with that.

Managed to get a flat rate of 3.25% which was agreed last November, even though rates are on there way up.

ok, i've pm'd you his details. although Im most probably lying about his telephone number as well.

I thought I'd originally post this thread to guage opinion on the deal I've been offered (as I'm in the process of possibly buying a 966TT). I will learn from this going forward with regards to what deals I keep to myself, and what I post herein.
