Had problems with their service dept. They damaged the paint on my Boxster and refused to admit it, but offered to change the brake fluid in compensation. This should have been done in the service! They also checked their record to see if my 993's wiring recall had been done, said it had. Subsquent electrical failure was because the wiring recall had not been done. Would never go back there.

Christ, that was quick!! I had a general invite to go and drive last weekend. All I needed was my driving license. All set to purchase a GT3/GT3RS I had already spoken with them. However, some of you guys had trouble with the splitter being so low and I have at least one VERY high speed hump before my home plus a drive on a slope. So,just to make sure thought I`d ask if I could try their stock GT3 20 mins up the road to my home. I had already told them I may buy new. Their reply????...................."we`re trying to sell as many vehicles as we can this weekend and unless you are going to buy we haven`t got the time"!!! So, I went back today. Their response????.........."I don`t want to waste my time if you are not going to buy that car". I can assure Hatfield OPC........I won`t be buying ANY car from you!!!

Now you come to mention it................Jeremy Beadle lives just up the road from me, perhaps it was a test run!!! How I would loved to have been a senior guy from Porsche GB. Hatfield would now be one salesman short!!!

Shame so many people have experienced this type of crap. My local OPC have always been great, buying the car was easy and the service department have been great, especially on the three occasions their services have been called for at short notice.

Graham, maybe worth writing to the dealer principal, asking them to arrange a time when a demo car can be made available, so that the speed hump clearance can be checked prior to placing an order. I've heard similar stories in the past where dealers have allowed booked test drives to divert via a customers homes/offices so that garage widths, or entry gradients etc can be checked. I mean some of them actually realise they are in the business of selling cars!

Hi Darren. I guess the salesman in question must have sensed my displeasure as on my way home from the OPC I had a call from the used Sales Manager. They must have sensed a lost sale as I had told them apart from new there was a used car in their OPC group I may be interested in. As you probably know, OPC`s within the same group can sell each others cars and he wanted to transport the car to Hatfield for me to see. My response?????...................I`ll go to the other OPC and if I like it, I`ll buy from them!!!

Spoke to the DP at my local OPC who knows me well. (I live Nr Tonbridge......)

Asked if my Mother-in-law could test a new C2S as she wanted to buy one. He said he'd call me back either that day or the next once he'd had a chance to organise a car.

I never heard from them. Within a week of that call I had bought 2 new 997's (a 2S and a 4S cab and placed orders for 2 New GT3 RS's. Thats 4 cars from another dealer.

Oh well I guess they're earning too much.

About a year ago twas considering replacing my wifes car, been trying to tear her away from her Golf for a while and thought she might like the new 1 Series BMW.

So whilst in the dealership i booked a test drive for her and me. Turned up with our licences at the ready to be told by the sales guy that "eerrr sorry the cars not available cos the manager has taken it home with him"

So that cost me time and money and a pathetic excuse....

Guess what this dealership is blacklisted and as long as there is a hole in my behind i will never buy a car from them.... its the small things in life....

Hatfield's owned by Porsche Cars GB isn't it? Same as Reading, Chiswick, East London and Guilford?

Steer clear.

Have bought two 997s from my local OPC.

Both times when buying I've had the full on 'sales experience' - extended test drives, bottle of champagne, tickets to a Carrera Cup event, etc

However, once they have your money its like a switch is flicked and they couldn't care less. Problems never sorted out on time, still waiting for about 10 calls to be returned, emails not answered, etc

In the future will definitely be using the indy route for my cars.

Based on threads like this, I fail to see why people pay the premium that OPCs demand. By from an indy, subject to inspection/warranty and you effectively have the same car at a far better buy price (and if applicable, often with a better px price).

Hatfield OPC Oct 2005, I was sitting in an Arctic Silver GT3 when a poorly dressed imbecile comes over and says "are you interested in buying this car"?

"Yes I am actually, but wonder if you can move on the price as its abit top-end?"

"I'll have to ask the Manager and come back to you" says the imbecile

"No, problem I say"

and he proceeds to write my name and number on the back of his fag packet! I kid you not!

Never rec'd a call, bought an similar car two weeks later from Bournemouth OPC, great transaction.
