I would like to put a harness on the drivers side of my car, and wonder what the options are for anchoring the shoulder straps. Could use the lower seat belt mount points in the unused rear seat well, but would have to take out or cut the board that covers the wells in the CS to do that which may not look too good ? Does anyone make a bespoke harness mounting bar for the 968 ?
All ideas/experiences appreciated.
Thanks.

If you have a look in the shell at the sides, in the rear compartment, you should find the standard rear mounting for the rear inertia reel belts behind the side carpet pieces. You can safely use these for a 3 point belt.
Ordinarily we would affix the belt through the boot floor on eye bolts, but be very careful as the petrol tank is beneath the floor.
I'll have a look in our project CS and see what we can find.

Thanks, I'd appreciate any suggestions or tips you might have. Do you have any views on harnesses themselves ? Is any one make rated more highly than the rest ? My car is for road and track day use so I don't need anything to be full race spec.

Some harnesses have the BSI kite mark but most don't. If yours doesn't, then strictly speaking you need to retain the original seatbelt to get through the MOT. (Never had it checked on mine though.)
