I thought I'd get some helpful advice here, so why the odd replies?
at the moment I drive a Lotus Elise and a mate has a GT3, which seems a more practical car, while still being fun.

If you do a search on the topic there will be lots of info. Its a question that is asked regularly and there is a hell of a lot of information to download.
Good luck

Done to death, that's why you got so few meaningfull replies.
Very briefly:-
Mk1 - Rarer, older circa 360BHP - cheaper - original / more organic looks.
Mk11 - Not quite so rare - newer - 380BHP - bigger brakes as standard - more angular looks.
Club Sport - Roll cage, race seats, In Mk1 format has lightweight single mass fly wheel.
Comfort - "Normal" sports seats, no cage, dual mass fly wheel.
All brilliant & lots of fun.
All more practical & faster than an Elise, but not as intimate / agile.
As Steve says do a search.

In addition to what Andy Tims wrote...
Be aware that "Club Sport" is more than just Nomex seats and a roll cage!!! Lots of GT3's are advertised as "Club Sport" when they are equipped with the leather Nomex seat and the 1/2 rollcage behind the front compartiment.
A true Club Sport has the Nomex seats in fireproof cloth upholstery, contains a black rollcage (normally up to the A-pillars but that part is removable), has the fire-extinguisher in the passengers front and a power cut-off (both mustn't be fitted but have to be at least with the car!). The MkI Club Sport doesn't have side-airbags!; the MkII CS does so.
As already said, the MkI CS somes with single-mass flywheel, where the MkII CS owner had the choice of which one to be fitted...so there might be some MkII CS's out there with single-mass flywheels. I can telle you that the difference is throttle response is huge...always go for the single mass.
Good luck with your search, they're great cars!!!

MERRITT !!!
Think I've come across you somewhere before. Any relation to Tom Tom? Or do you have knowledge of Scott Scott? Do you want it with or without a cage? Go and see Henry. His GT3 "lite" should be just the job to take you down to the bowling alley on Thursdays.
