After spending ages looking for an RS, finally took delivery last wk. Here's my impression.

First thing I noticed, the door feels noticably lighter than the C2. Interior is spartan but functional. The RS steering wheel and gear lever look and feel just right for the car.

The car is loud! Did't notice it on the outside but as soon as I started driving, I could hear a lot more noise from engine, transmission and all the mechanical noises.

Even with the standard exhaust, the inside is loud enough for me to have second thoughts about changing the exhaust to Cargraphic ones! No booming, just noisy with a nice engine roar when I press the gas pedal down.

The engine is definately much torque-ier than my C2, and because of the different gearing, I frequently stepped over to the very naughty side of the speed limit without realising. The car can go so fast so easily!

The suspension is much harder than the C2 even with all the mods. Lots of road noise, feeling every piece tissue paper on the road, and on bumpy surface the car can be dancing round all over the place, I really had to keep both hands on the wheel!

The car feels very planted, the faster it is, the more stable it feels. Turn in is very sharp, I felt very connected to the car, very little body roll even when changing lane "briskly". And all that's on wet road speed! Can't wait to get it on track!

You do feel a lot more conspicuous in a yellow car, but in this yellow car, it's a nice feeling!

In the last few days, I've had a very good detailer doing a full paint correction and Zymol wax. He spent over 2 days getting the car lookng tip top shine!

After 2 whole days of hard work by G (elitedetailing.co.uk), my RS is done, the front end is not being HD clensed and waxed because the Paintshield is going on it this wkend.

When I got the car I thought the body work was pretty darn perfect, but when G put a spot light on it all the swirl marks and fine scratches were showing up like a sore thumb!

The paint correction G did got rid of nearly all of them, taking off hardly any paint (may be 1-2 micron, when the total paint thickness is @130 micron) leaving the few deep ones which are not visible unless you look very carefully with the spot lights.

Then he uses the HD clense and put the super dooper Vintage wax on, WOW!!!

Never knew you can ever get such a shine on a light coloured car! Photo will not do it justice, you got to see it to beleive it, I can honestly say that I have never ever seen a yellow car shines like this!

Here's some pics:

Cheers guys, I know it looks neat and clean, but it's not bonna be a garage queen! First track day in Oulton on 16/03, then Cadwell followed by Spa, LeMans trip and then the Ring, all booked!

The Clubsport spoiler set is to be collected tomorrow, booked in to be sprayed next wk. Got a set of Cargraphic box and some race cat to go in, hopefully before Oulton.

Still waiting for Armburster to get back to me about a set of BBS alu racing wheels.

Not sure if it's the same date as Porsche Club one but I'm going with the 911uk guys on 31/05 and 01/06, with Goldtrack.

I'm in the country just north of Newport.

My 993 isn't looking so lovely any more unfortunately - .....

Gorgeous. Arguably* the nicest 911 ever, the 993RS. Love the yellow, and you've got the right spoilers and bits on this one. Yum.

*The usual terms and conditions apply, and rights granted to conflicting views on the 993RS and its niceness or lack thereof, whilst respected and duly validated in advance, are temporarily suspended; though such suspension does not in any way affect the statutory rights and priviledges of those holding these views to air them elsewhere.

Look at that last photo! - "arguably"??? - I'd go so far as to say THE nicest looking 911 ever made.

You absolute ... whatever

I'm not jealous at all.

No, really.

I don't even like yellow.

No, really.

Oh, well - well done what a great car. Though personally I'd keep the standard spoiler.
