A little late to be looking at these OPC costs now that the car is imminent but....

Minor service (every 12k miles/2yrs) £393. This excludes brake fluid change (£113) which is also due every 2yrs so in effect the service is £506.

Major service (every 24k miles/4yrs) £818!! This includes changing spark plugs but again with brake fluid change totals £931.

This is in fact good value compared to my previous 993C4. With that the servicing alternated between £550 one year (12k/1yr) to £850 the next (24k/2yrs).

Other consumable items are quite cheap also:
Drive belt £66 (6yrs)
Fuel filter £29 (6yrs)
Transmission oil £73 (12yrs)
Tyre sealant on tyre pressure monitor sys!! £36 (4yrs)

Except:
Replace windscreen wiper blades £42 - bloody hell!
Battery £232 - you gotta be f'in jokin govner!

And now the activity requiring lube:

Front pads £629
Front discs/pads £1685
Rear pads £586
Rear discs/pads £1023

A highwayman robbing £2700 for discs/pads all round then yikes

You need to contact your OPC for PCCB prices!!

Anyone know what an extra set of wheels would cost? so that I can have dry / wet tyres (although would probably have aftermarket wheels).

They should be. I put my real running costs on that thread in the noble forum and it went very quiet

I was thinking of doing exactly the same thing, particularly as I plan to take the car on driving holidays into Europe, I can't see the point of wearing out a set of cup tyres on a drive where I'm not going to notice the extra grip of them anyway. Speaking to the dealer about it this weekend, I'll let you know what I find out.

Is there an 'approved' road tyre for the 997 GT3 yet? (besides the Cups and Corsas).

I know there is a 'winter' tyre as there was a 997 GT3 at Obertauern fitted with them yesterday.

I was at my OPC this morning asking about a spare set of wheels - they are having trouble getting them at the moment. You could try Carnewal...

P97 GT3 Wheels
Front : 8,5x19 ET53
Rear : 12x19 ET68

Price : 3.150 Euro/ set shipping included.
Factory wheels.

Oh and just out of interest what about a new clutch and what is the lifespan of said item (normally)? Does this apply to the 996 c4s and 996 tt also?

As there the same tyre size as the TT and 4S i was thinking of putting a set of those on as soon as i get my car as also doing a Europe trip and do not want to waste the cups.

edited to add, daz was telling me yesterday that the gt3's back wheel is an inch wider than the tt's, not sure what difference this will make(tyres not fit as good)?.

I'm off on a little round trip to Spain in five weeks. The whole trip will be a little over 3000 miles.

I have just put a new set of cups on the rear and I am hoping that they will at least last the trip out and back
