Had a Cerbera - very smiley.
GT3 will work, even on the bad days. If you can get over the boring interior and the fact that is might not *feel* as fast, or sound quite as good, you'll probably find you will actually drive it faster and the slightly smug feeling that it won't break (much) is the sweet after the sour. Like "Vanilla Sky" - "Only after you have experience the depths of the sour, can you truly appreciate the sweet" (Or something like that)

Currently cosidering a GT3 at the moment, having test driven it two days ago. Only trouble is will I miss the TVR or be happy in the Porker? The performance feels smoother, but not as quick or agressive as my T350.

about the same straight line speed - one of the GT3s weaker points (raw drag performance) is similar to the TVRs strongest point.
so if your looking at it that way, keep the TVR - and you will be more content.
was this a question or a statement?

Well EVO eeked 0-60 in 4.1 and 0-100 in 9.2secs out of a Mk2 996 GT3. Hardly call that shoddy. I think the TVRs feel faster but in reality theres not much in it really.

having owned both, i can tell you that honestly, sadly, nothing compares to the '3. ive just picked up a sagaris, and fast as it is, its no-where near as accomplished as the gt3.
but then, its not meant to be.

i mean weaker in a relative sense - also in autocar 997 Gt3 0-150 in 22secs just 0.5secs off an F430 so faster than most

I know they are made like canoes, but that's still quite a feat of lifting.
Personally I think the GT3 is a superior car in most every axis. It is a more subtle charm though, so you will fall in love with it more as you discover its depths. I find this in contrast to British marques I've owned where the opposite is the case.

Got any photos yet Matt? (I guess it may be a little dark this evening).
Re. the GT3 - I'd go that if I possibly could, Pork tends to grow on you and the GT3 sounds like it would - based on all I've read about it. I think you need more test drives before you decide.
I just drove both these cars back to back over Sunday. MK2 GT3 and a the prussian blue Sagaris at Dream Machines. I drove two 911 turbos as well but they felt soggy (to me) compared to the other two.
Both immense machines, but it was the GT3 was the one that really took my breath away... That short throttle and that wonderful engine note! The Sagaris was wonderful to drive as well, I could feel so much and the car felt exceedingly "true", however my first impressions aren't as positive as the GT3. The Sagaris engine note made me smile though, it really feels "old school" like my Lancia. But I must admit (and I realise I will be in the minority here), the GT3 symphony sounded more urgent, more exciting.
As for fast? The Sagaris was very, very quick, but the GT3 (perhaps I was not driving the Sagaris correctly) felt just as quick and a little more stable. Either way, 5 tenths of a second to 60 really doesn't matter to me.
As for handling, there was a very tight little left handed corner where I slowed right down and then stamped on it... the Sagaris snapped out a bit (super easy to correct though, I must add) but that GT3, it went around it like it was on rails! Jaw dropping. I am pretty damned sold.
Both are fabulous but you really do need to drive both! Nervous, if I may would like to email you about that fabulous GT3 you owned and the Sagaris you currently own. Your input as an owner/driver on both would be most useful!
Edited to add: Would be grateful if someone could pointed out the differences between the MK1 and MK2. Is the Mk2 a substantial improvment?

Surely the TVR feels faster as body panels are flying around your head, the engine is close to blowing up and the gear box whines like hell...
and I didn't mention any electrics yet...
great cars nonetheless

sure thing. however, you might need to be aware that my input as a 'driver' will be limited, as i have trousers with more talent behind the wheel than me.

Thats makes two of us. I'll be in touch!
buy one. I got mine (99 GT3 MK1) after several TVRs inc. a 4.5 cerbera which I loved. The GT3 is every bit as 'raw' an experience in its own way as the Cerb. It's probably y no.1 fave car ever, ahead of my old Cerbera, Chimera, 306 XSi and AX GT!
I still have a Griff though for old time's sake and to scare myself witless every now and again.
