I've read the books so know roughly what
to look for but how should it feel and
what should I listen for? It's a '00 C2
50k 996 manual. Thanks.

Very subjective, but someone told me it should be like driving a Swiss watch!

If a good un, it should immediately feel tight, strong box, strong steering, and un-flappable handling...

I still remember this from my 1st ever 911 drive...

I think most owners take the 911's for granted..

under hard accelleration the front end will feel light. dont be alarmed, the steering will give all all the feedback you need.

The rear end will fell nicely planted and will go round bends far quicker than you will have the bottle for.

Gearshift should be precise, not too floppy and throttle response should be instant.

As a general aside, if the car you are testing is one you're really interested in, take sometime to check that evert thing inside works, that the service book and radio manual are there and that the tool kit is withthe spare wheel.

Good luck

Drive more than one if you get the chance, that will be an easy way to compare and contrast.

Try and find a 3.6 facelift if you can. More money but probably worth it. And one with PSE would be very cool
