a Porsche being driven the way nature intended?

I'm not exactly Nigel Mansell but I do try and get my toe down a little where possible, but I've never seen a 911 being driven in any way you could even remotely describe as "fast".

Does anyone on here buy a 911 to drive it slowly?

GT3RS at Combe Trackday last year giving it plenty of beans, sounded glorious.

I drive mine like I stole it as much as possible. Sorry if thats not what the lentilists and bearded do gooders want to hear but thats the way it is. 14 mpg on avarge (1999 C2) and 3600 miles out of a set of rears. Its what they are for.

All the time!

After the Ace Meeting last month, I shot back up the M40 overtaking a few 'slow' Porsches. What's the point of owning the car if you can't drive it how you are supposed to!

For the daily commute, and given the current attitude to Porsches and speeding in France, the best I can manage is the occasional blast of acceleration and enjoying exploring limits on roundabouts. Roll on the summer for the country roads...

However, I came across to the UK in the early hours of Sunday morning and fell into a convoy with a biker on the M25 doing up to one and a half units. Nice to stretch the car's legs and blow the cobwebs off the turbos. I've never done Dover to home so quickly!

So in general yes, I'm a hooligan, habitual speeder and enjoy the car wherever possible. What's the point of having one if you don't?

Whenever police state allows (implicitly). Did 303 km/h (according to the speedo) on derestricted German autobahn last Summer. Also the odd track day helps to keep the machine in the right spirit...hehe

I'm not sure driving them fast on the motorway is really "driving them as intended". My 968 gets driven as it was designed to be through the fast flowing, occasionally twisty A and B roads around north Essex at least a couple of times a week as and when conditions allow.

erm... SM of course most 911 owners drive it as intended...

its just we either take it to a track, or somewhere, *ahem* less obvious to avoid the long arm of labours pickpockets..
