hi,
recently acquired a porsche 996 carrera sport '98 in Oct, has been going a dream until recently, It has had the same problem happen three times now and I am stumped as to what the problem could be.
The car will open using the central locking but then when you turn the key in the ignition the engine doesn't even turn over, the alternator is fine as is the battery, the second time it happened I had been sitting in the car with the keys in the ignition for 5-10 mins then when I went to start it the same thing happened plus the alarm went off and would not respond to the key pushing the button or putting it in the lock. Is it some kind of lock out sysytem and how do you over ride it or could be something as simple as the battery in the key? , I had to wait about 30 mins before it would start. If anyone has come across this problem or knows the answer I would be grateful.
Cheers
Ira
