Hi All,

I have a 1996 VR993 C2, pretty much stock other than a 9M remap a couple of years ago, upgraded suspension (AST Coilovers), and erm thats about it. I've been hankering after a bit more wallop and, sucker for the whole N/A thing that I am, can't see much further than Colin Belton and his magic metal in my quest for glory.

But - £10K plus vat is alot of money for 50 odd horses - anybody here less financially embarassed, or just plain gutsier than me actually gone down this route? If so, how was it for you?

I also fancy taking some weight away - but stopping short of losing the rear seats, and carpet's quite nice in a car too...any tips here also gratefully received

Have you thought about getting Colin's supercharger or would that go against your NA ideals?

There's a guy who posts over on rennlist ('robin 993 c2' I think) who has these heads on his 993. There's also been quite a bit of discussion over there on them - go to http://forums.rennlist.com and do a search on '9M billet heads' - in fact there's a recent thread right now on the 993 board: http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums

Cheers
Ian

A good remap from 9M should see the best part of 50 BHP - you'll need the later inlet manifold and throttle body to see the most gains IIRC. Have a look at Colin's website (www.ninemeister.com I think). There's loads of info on there. The 964's standard heads are much better than the 993's, hence why probably more 993 owners have fitted the billet heads than 964's.

Thanks all - have just collected car from 9M (regulation service etc), and spent half an hour getting more details from Colin. Unfortunately, as suspected my options are:

1. Forget about the whole N/A thing and buy a 993TT
2. Forget about any other financial commitments and spend £12-13k on what seems to be a fantastic bit of engineering from 9M
3. Forget about any significant power increases
4. Forget.
