LHD Porsche - Anyone know anything about 'em?
Discussion
Hi chaps, anyone know anything about them, good or bad? Seems they are based in Notts, but I think the pics of the cars are just generic examples (which I hate!)

Looking at the site they are not generic photos they are the actual cars in the German OPC network who own them, these guys seem to act as agents for the OPC so all the cars should be C00 spec and full service history/ warrenty. Not sure what the deal is on payment ie who you pay them or the OPC in Germany paying an agent for a car they dont own wouldent make me feel comftable
Never delt with them but a C00 car is great I bought mine at 2000 miles from one of the Carrera Cup drivers when he bought a Fezza.
Talk to them and see what your gut tells you if they make you feel uncomftable they are probably not the dealer for you. Lots of people bring in LHD cars www.mobile.de
is good most German OPC's advertise on there.
In the UK Joe Macari in Wandsworth are great I would talk to Jo tell him what you want and your budget he will find it and is a great guy to deal with 0208 870 9007.Happy for you to say Bo recomended you it may get you a free cup of coffie.

Thanks matey.
Whats COO spec???
I thought they were generic as some of the 'options' listed didn't tie up with some of the pics.
If they are just an agent for importing the cars then of course,a fee would be involved so makes better sense to find your own LHD?
Thanks once again, the car would be to run in France, hence LHD.

I liked the white GT3 with the Techequipment cage they had.
C00 is spec for the German market as C16 is for UK both C00 and C16 are well speced as standard in some markets things like leather, A/C, tints are cost options.
The great thing about a LHD GT3 is it has a 90ltr fuel tank right hookers only get somthing like 64 which is crap for the drag from Genevre to paris or even Le Mans. I ran several RHD cars and this was always an issue for me, for guys who just use them as a weekend toy it may be less important.
Give Joe a call

And I quote:
[quote]Before using lhdporsche, LHD Car Company, the Loach brothers, Micronet etc you should check out the bad press they have recieved from The Mirror, BBC Watchdog, Parkers etc by feeding their names into google. They are also under investigation the Dept of Trade.
If you want to live dangerously and loose money (like I did) use them. But after reading some of the horror stories I am sure you will will want to buy direct from Pourshe Germany. (I am too embarressed to admit how much I lost, particularly when checking the internet would have warned me!).
Take the advice of those of us who found them dishonest and unreliable. Avoid them at all costs.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Thats what makes this forum invaluable.
Anyone got any good contacts with OPC in Germany?? Anyone been done that route and can advise me??
Many thanks.

Hi Tripple7,
I bought my boxster s from Hamburg OPC, www.raffay.de
The guy at the time was frank schlack who now moved.
He was voted the best porsche salesman at some point.
Never met such a professional knowledgeable car sales person.
The experience of buying there was second to none.
He sourced the best car for me (colour, options) at the best price and even searched for sport design wheels that i wanted!
Now that he is gone, you have to call Matthias Himmel there.
You can quote my name (although i have no affiliation other than buying a car there 3 years ago).
You can use the search engine on www.porsche.de and select the criterias you like.
I would do it again without a minute of hesitation.
Ditto above, keep clear of the 'brokers'...
regards,
Eric.
