Hi,

I have known Ady at AMB for maybe 10 years plus and he's worked on a number of my previous cars.
I can recommend him highly as he's very honest, does excellent work and is one of the old style mechanics who likes to fix things if they can be fixed as opposed to just simply replacing parts for the sake of it. I have sent quite a number of people to him for work and they have all been very happy with the service they received. His garage isn't like the standard main dealer operating theatre but then again you won't be paying their prices either !
I'd suggest you give him a call or simply pop over in the car for a chat.
Feel free to mention I recommended him to you ( just say Big Mark ) and no, I dont get free beer !
Cant help with Zentrum but I'm sure someone will be along who can.
If you want a second opinion on AMB speak to Jase ( 964RS on here )

Cheers, Mark.

I've used MIke at Zentrum for a few years. It is a small outfit and fairly unimpressive to look at but Mike is an excellent mechanic, ex head OPC. I'd trust him with any Porsche.

They both know their stuff and are very genuine enthusiasts.

Neither will rip you off and neither will do a bad job.

I use Mike at Zentrum now as:
1. Its closer
2. Its a slightly more professional outfit....Ady can sometimes take quite a while to get you your car back...hes always got too much going on and likes rebuilding his 356's etc...
3. No one I know has ever had anything other than praise

What's your car? If its a 996 then defo Mike...Ady likes his air cooled

my

Hi Jason, I've bought a 996 convertible. first time porkie owner

I have already contacted a connection at nottm's opc (who obviously does nt give any discount!!) they want the higher side of £850 . The thing is is that the car is up to 90k and it has been 12k and just over a 1 year since last service. so i am thinking of doing the
big 96k service now (even though i have 6k til 96k), This means replacing fuel filter, Gear box oil, drive belt, brake fuild and it soon adds up.
After my first phone call with AMB. Adrain priced it all up at out about £450.(Not bad at all my son!!)
I took a drive up to AMB to check out the set up. After pulling up and introducing myself he took a look at my car and straight away did not like the fact that 1 of the previous owners had drop it 30mm and push the wheels out on spacers 10mm. He said i should have at least 1" between tyre and arch.(Lower the better for me chaps!!) He ask if i liked it and i said its not that firm and thought the ride was cool.
He said fair enough.
We had a brief friendly chat about value, conditon, work standards he seems pretty much a sound geezzer!! He give me card and told me to think it over and if i needed him, Bell him!

Sounds like Ady - he is a very nice bloke, known him a long time.

Mike was OPC trained and the better mechanic at OPC Notts for some time.

Either way you can't go far wrong....
