Hi folks

Just wondered if any of you may have a quick fix or had had similar experience. On my 996 c4s the windscreen wash seems to be blocked. i have filled up the resevoir but still not coming through.

A real rotter, is there anything simple i could do to fix it ?

Thanks for any advice/tips. also is there a way of keeeping rear washer on permanent or do we have to press when we want 2 wipes ?

Thanks again folks

Didn't know there was such a thing as a rear washer? Just a wiper isn't it?

Try a pin down the washer jets, otherwise check under the bonnet that they're actually connected properly - if not you could be pumping water into there instead.

Mine had this problem too. I went under the bonnet and disconected all the pipes from the nozzles and sucked and blew and sucked and blew!!
I also had to take the nozzles themselves out and keep sucking and pushing a mouthful of water through. Eventually they came good. Finally, while the pipes were disconnected I filled the reservoir and pulled the stalk so the water just pumped out of the bottle (I pointed the pipes over the side of the wing). I filled and emptied the bottled a few times. I think I had let the bottle run very low and when I filled it some sediment was disturbed. It was a pain on the arse taking all the plastic covers off from inside the bonnet and taking all the electric wires off but if I can do it at a motorway service station so can you!!!

Had a screen fitted recently ? the connection just behind the battery (just before the T piece IIRC) on my car looked to be ok, but had infact come apart because the locking mechanisms had not engaged properly.

I pushed them together and put a small cable tie around the connection for a belt and braces job.
No problem thereafter.

Good luck.
