I'm talking about a deal on this with my turbo. Does anyone know anything about this car please? Looking at my advert (see classifieds NR17) what would be a fair price to change? Please PM me for price to change because I know Joel comes on here and I'd hate for everyone to say his deal is too good lol... (hi joel wavey)

SM i think if u get a deal at £10000,its in your favour.
If u get a deal at £12000,its in their favour.

I can never understand people that spend this sort of money at a second hand car dealer. I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole. Spending that amount of cash at anything other than a main dealer is lunacy. If the engine blows up your Arthur Daily second hand car dealer wont give a toss. If you have problems with a main dealer, then its easier to get the problems resolved with the manufacturer. Have a problem with an expensive car, purchased from xyz garage & your on your own, they'll find some get out in the worthless piece of paper they have given you with the words warranty on it.

If you cant source your car from an OPC, wait until you can.

Have a look at the website again .. They suggest sending the car to an OPC for the 111 check , will fix anything that comes up , and then you're free to buy a car significantly cheaper then the OPC price , but with all the OPC guarantees .. This is the sort of indie I'll be using...
With this sort of deal , I personally can't see why you'd bother digging deeper into your pockets at the OPC , unless they had the exact spec car you were looking for , and you were supplying the KY..

mr funkydunk; it doesnt make sense to tar all "non-official" dealers with the same brush. You wouldnt touch them - thats your opinion; the fact you cant understand why others might want to use people outside of the official dealership environment is another mater. The decisions people take to go this route have many drivers (cost, personal service, cars further into their depreciation / value chain, diversity of the marketplace, reaction to previous official dealers interaction etc). These are all understandable.

Have you ever have the honour of dealing with an OPC? All smiles when you buy but couldn't care less once they have your money. I won't be dealing with them again except to buy the expensive warranty.

Getting back to the original post. This GT3 at looks remarkably like one that appeared on the PH classifieds in a private sale last Wednesday (21/2) for less than a day before it was withdrawn. Price was significantly less, MK2, yellow with the black wheels and similar spec. The mileage was a little different at 13.5K so maybe just a coincidence as opposed to the same car.

I seem to remeber that this dealer in particular just had to pay up after an expensive court battle.( for what its worth thought the court was a bit harsh on him). So your not on yor own. Have a look at some other threads on here and you will see its not all sweetness and light with the main dealers either.

You two taking the piss?? Do you think you get a better response to your warranty claim at an OPC??

A bad OPC and a bad independent are both the same - bad!

FunkyDunk - I see from you vast post count that you are new here. Joel at RSJ isn't Arthur Daly.

FWIW, I find that people who obsess about buying thier cars from OPC's only do so because they don't know much about the car they are buying. They think a FPSH is some sort of protection against failure. I don't think so.

Im pretty new to this forum too but i certainly know enough not to class RSJ as 'Artur Daily', or to suggest they wouldn't give a toss, pretty ill informed comments that don't really count for much in the context of this post.

Plowy, RSJ was the subject of a warranty issue, resolved recently in court - there was a recent thread on the subject on PH to this effect....I guess you may have missed it, judging by your comment?

Seeing as this has come up agin , I'd like to add my tuppence.

I've read both topics relating to the above with interest , and can only come to the conclusion the RSJ came out of things badly , having made some offers that I would have found perfectly acceptable and reasonable.
I note that thoughout both posts , even though there was quite a lot of (the usual) dealer bashing (which I just don't get BTW , but that's for another thread!!..) no one dived in with their own specific compliant against RJS , and quite a few had good things to say about the business in question. They would be top of my list when it next comes time to buy...
