Found on my 993
Discussion
I've had it since November and have upgraded the suspension but have been meaning to replace the 18" turbo twists which are a bit scuffed and corroded and I assumed were aftermarket copies so probably very heavy as well. I had been blaming them for various handling problems like ABS kicking in very early and other such stuff.
Last weekend I took one off to get a look and noticed a Porsche part number which I was pleased about, I though that would make it more sellable. I took some pictures and typed the part no 993.362.140.01 into google, and it turns out that's the part no for a hollow spoke as are the others on the car.
So good news is that it's worth a lot more than I though, so I'll probably get them refurbished and cherish them.
Bad news is that even with new suspension, new tyres and lightweight wheels, I still can't handle a Porsche properly

Make sure you go to a reputable 'refurbisher'. I believe that the hollow spoke alloys are a sod to do. Possibly because there is less metal....depends where your scuffs are..
I have had my car almost a month and am getting to know it better and better. This weekend I decided I would clean the insides of the alloy wheels and so....started front right. Took off the 17" cup alloy to discover that one of the previous owners / selling dealers (not sure which) must have splashed out on a cheaper cosmetic repair and the wheels have only been refurbished on the outside....! The inside of the front right wheel is disgraceful. The others appear better, but it's bothering me, so.... decision time, refurb properly or replace with 18 inch Turbo alloys......?
Leo, what were you going to replace your wheels with. i think the turbo alloys look great.

I agree that you need to get your Geometry checked (by someone that knows 993's) and check the tyres and tyre pressures...stick to N rated tyres and a good make.
My 993 was awful when I first got it...it had 18's with Asymetric Tyres (contis I think) and it was scary...I went for Original Cups as per the car was designed and bought new N Rated Tyres then got Russell at RSR Engineering to redo the Geometry and you would not believe the change....it can still be a bit nervous crossing white lines and odd cambers at speed (compared to my well sorted 3.2 Carrera.
