Looks like I'm going to have to part with my 928 and was wondering what I could get for it and the best place to sell it.

Its a 91 S4 in Amethyst Mettalic with Amethyst leather inside. Ive had it 3 years.

It has done 25k miles (40km)and was imported from Hong Kong by Shirleys of Meriden which is where I bought it. There is a limited service history from Hong Kong with a number of bills from its time there Sinec being in the uk it has been serviced by indies GT1 Northway and Paul Anderson and I have all bills since. The car has had recent cam belts, water pump, fuel pump and a reconditioned torque tube since Ive had it.

It has had cup mirrors fitted.

The body work is reasonably good apart from a bit of lacquer lifting on one patch.

The car drives very well and I'll be sorry to part with it but am running out of space.

I (over) paid £16 k for it 3 years a go but guess I'm going to be hard pushed to get even half that back.

Would appreciate any thoughts on value and best place to sell.

Thanks

What sort of miles has it on the clock, Paul Anderson is only known to 928 people and him servicing it will mean Jack to anyone who does not know him.

25,000 miles or more precisely 40,000 kilometers as it has its Hong Kong clock

So from new it's only covered 25K?, If so thats the lowest mileage I've ever seen.

Hi

You are welcome to put it on the PCGB 928 Forum that I moderate...

www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tt.asp?forumid=129

No charge...

Price....hmm....it is VERY VERY low mileage....if Paul A has looked after it,
there will be no problems with it

You wont get what you paid...thats for sure...if it wasnt for the low mileage
I would guess around 7 to 8...with that mileage you might push 10k...

Hope this helps

All the best Brett

There is a '87 S4 here in the UK that now has 5,000 miles on it, when the present owner brought it 3 years ago it only had 3,000 from new !.

Many thanks Brett I will look to list on the PCGB site, to be honest I'd be happy enough with £7-8 K.

So the mileage can't be validated?

Yeah - but low milage and hong kong would fit for me if I were in the market for one of these.

You'd most likely be able to tell if it had been clocked -

my guess would be not.

yes

There are cars on the IOM with less miles than that which are just as mature

IMHO mileage is completely irrelevant for most 928s. The exceptions would be very late GTSs or Club Sport/SEs. S4s will happily get to 200,000+ with servicing and fixing stuff that wears out. they are MUCH happier being driven regularly like most cars. If it's had a recent TB/WP, discs, pads, service etc. I still bet I could find £2-4K's worth of work to do on most 928s! But that's because I'm a perfectionist.

I do hope you get good money for it, and would definitely suggest advertising on the 928.org.uk site.

I have enough bills from Hong Hong to support the milage pretty much but you can never be sure. I also think that these cars like to be driven so wouldnt be put off by one with 5 times the milage on mine.

I would still like to view your 928 if it is available. I asked if I could view it last week and you advised that weekends were best. I forwarded my contact coordinates but have not received any response. Here they are again:

Took advice from the chaps at 928.org and they said pitch it just below £10K. So duly photographed and listed in the classifieds, still not sure I really want to part with her though !
