It's simple i've got the money at the ready £55k of it and i need a 997 S, surely i can get a decent spec one for that kind of money.....?

I've just sold a 996 C4S and am running about in a Rover 214 SI and it's a complete raft but it's getting me to work.

The money is burning a hole in my pocket and i'm a Scotsman

Personally, I would spend the money on a 996tt rather than a 997s.

Had a 997s from new for a year and it was a great car but could feel a bit nervous at the front on occasion. Now have a mint 02 996tt which, I have to say, I prefer. It's quicker, more stable, cheaper and depreciates less. With hindsight, I would have bought this in the first place rather than the 997 (£45k as opposed to £70k).

check out the paragon website - they have my old car, very high spec jan '05 c2s with 10k miles, for a reasonable £57,995 which seems fair from a respectable specialist. it's a very honest car, if i may say so myself.

sebsea.. in scotland, stuartmckay.com and kennydunn.co.uk often have few nice 997s and may be better pricewise than yr average OPC....if you cant be bothered trekking down to Englandshire!

You dont mind me asking how much you got for your C4s Sebsea, i did look at it on classifieds but i am still trying to sell my own car? Just interested if you managed to get above £40k for it.

As for Stuart Makay, i think he is an ex-OPC guy, he has a vast range new 997s which seems strange for an Independant and some of his prices are actually higher then the dealers, also, all his cars come with a years OPC which seems a bit strange but i suppose is a good thing although he has probably just added it to the cost of the car.
Website - www.porschegb.com/index.php

He does have a nice GT3 though at a resonable price - 2004/04. 10000 Miles (16100 Km)
Polar Silver / Black Full Leather, GTT, Litronic Lamps, Air Con, Safety Roll Cage, S/S Door Entry, Aluminium Dials, Yellow Seat Belts, Ceramic Brakes, Original GT3 Wheels and Tyres to be fitted. NEVER TRACKED.£54996

I was originally selling my 996 C4S for a 996 tt, so i'll post a new question that should turn up a few controversal remarks i bet... I got £42k for my C4S, it was stunning, as soon as the buyer was walking towards it he was smiling - i got a good price and he got a great motor (his other choice was a M3)

I've driven both, my thought were first the 996 , it was planted to the road as went like shit of a shovel and i very very impressed and i was thinking my C4S was fleet, I drove bikes for years my fireblade was my favourite, the 996 tt was like a 4 wheeled bike. I would still buy one if the right one came up.

The 997 S was more refined, slightly more crisp drive and plenty fast enough for what i'll use it for and it looks slightly sleeker than the muscular 996 tt.

To be honest between the 2 i don't know which one to f#$cking buy, but driving a rover is making me need one or the other sooner rather than later....
