Have been beating myself up over not taking the dog for walks, being fed up with rear drive on bad rain days, and started to really want another Audi S4 Avant...

So put this up for sale...

www.pistonheads.com/sales/139428.htm

Am I wrong?

Should I hang on?

Are 993s going to drop in value over next 6 months?

Answers on the back of a postcard please.

KayC yes you're right - you have to wind it up, where the S4 was genuinely more responsive and quicker in every gear...

And more subtle...

Just can't see one out there with enough kit to replace my old one that had EVERYTHING on it!

Either of these two might do the trick ... but the 101 is a bit extreme for the dogs !!!

Good call, the Ragusa rhd car in the classifieds looks a reasonable buy..

Found myself in a similar situation. Kept the porker though.

Why on earth do you need a rocket powered car to cart the dogs around in? Spend £2k and buy a late 90s A4 Avant 1.8. They last for ever.

I agree with the others. A 993 is an ideal second car (or third in my case).

Get yourself a cheap estate for the dogs and tip runs and keep the 993 for special drives.

Difficulty is I have a company car, which is more often than not an Audi A4 Avant. (I work for an Audi dealership) but due to the miles I do it's always a diesel and not what I'd pick for myself only as I prefer faster cars...

So I want a car to use on my days off that I'll enjoy and can use even when it rains / snows without worrying about using it!

Sadly a Landrover would frustrate the life out of me and Timber (dog) couldn't jump into it these days - he's 12 going on 13!

So an Avant is what I'm thinking of...

I may change my mind yet!

Sounds like you and the 993 just aren't meant to be so you might as well punt it to someone who will get more out of it.

Personally, I find it to be one of the best looking and well engineered cars ever made. Been a lifelong ambition to own one and I'd rather eat pins that chop it in for an Audi sports hearse.
I repeat, my personal view.

you are doing the wrong thing!!! and in 6 months will be hankering after another Porsche..this is exactly why Porshces have so many owners. They are bought and then found not to be 100% practical and therefore get sold but are then sorely missed and another one is bought etc etc

You know what?

You're probably right!!

I sold the previous 911 I had to get an S4 Avant...

And now I'm repeating the process...

However I'm pretty certain I want to do this...

I've just not made a "bond" with this Porsche, which I had done with the others, and definately did with the S4!

Thanks all of you for the advice though!

I just need to find a suitable car to buy now!

And more importantly Le-Mans!

But they're only going to put a production V12 diesel in the Q7, and I'm not paying the company car tax on a £70,000 V12 TDi - call me cheap if you will!!

NOT THAT MY BOSS WOULD GIVE ME ONE ANYWAY...
