Gawd knows, Steve but since you're here, are you partaking of the Bruntic Thorpe on the 27th?

My mate has a poor condition 912 that cost him 6k. I know tidier examples go for 10k. I guess a minter could be as high as 15k, maybe. Sound just like beetles don't they.

Well done Paul - informative as ever - are you any closer to 993ing yourself, buddy?

Closer, yes, but there's a little further waiting ahead yet. Hopefully my iccle investment in london will be ready to put on the market in a month or so. I guess I'll be facing a total of 4ish months from now till the cash lands in my account. We may even have more than two days of sunshine to string together around then!

The trouble will be deciding how much is sensible to spend on a car, and how much to leave outstanding on my mortgage. Part of the issue is I'm tired of sitting at my desk working for other people. I really intend to go freelance and have a lifestyle change. This is where my sensible side kick's in. From this safe financial point of view, a depreciation proof RS may be the only option open.

If I wasn't so hacked off with the normal work routine I could afford a 996tt for around 80k I guess. However, there's more to life than commuting and bills. (Quater life crisis mode) It doesn't help my mate's have buggered off to Aus to travel - sob!

Hmmm...I think you were one of the first PHers who welcomed me when first I landed on Planet PH, Paul, so forgive me when I say that I honestly think you might just be fractionally more undecided than me ito what the hell to do car wise and frankly, I think it's because we're fairly well spoiled as punters, at least ito sheer choice for pretty much any given, vaguely sensible budget.

I mean, even forgetting so called supercars, if you want pure enjoyment, what better than an S1 Elise or 'base' Caterham type psycho trolley?

A bit more could see you flinging yourself along B-roures at a ludicrous lick in any number of Jap box rally specials (that latest Scooby 'Group C' thing at £27k looks quite mental and utterly wonderful).

And then, yes, the mega performance beckons; whether the purity of Domster's stripped out piety or the soul-selling expense of ze Daz mobile...you know that satisfaction is assured but like me, you might always find yourself looking/lusting after a different form of thrill delivery - be it the religous experience of eight thousand screaming Itallian thoroughbreds or the manic holler from something Blackpool wrought - you just need it all!

My problem, is that one minute I can be in the regional OPC, literally running my clammy mits along the sensuous fin of a GT2, the next, falling deeply in love with the gentle but obvious thrum from a Maser V8...then staring open-mouthed at the behemoth from N.Pagnell but heretically, later in the day, admiring the sheer ability and crass honesty of a bug eyed STi...much less swooning at the flight deck of a Joustian M12 or Bennno-Flashonic T350...

I'll say it again but ultimately, somehow, you need one of each...so it's gowna be a long slog!
