removing 964/993 passenger airbag.
Discussion
Has anyone removed the 964 or 993 dash passenger side airbag?
I got as far as the glovebox out, radio out, but cannot find out how the bloomin thing releases, has anyone got a pet print out of the area or have you done it yourself?
Also I assume a squib resistor needs to be put across 2 of the wires, which ones? and what resistance?

Are you removing it for child seat deactivation, or permanently??
There is a plug contact under the seat to deactivate the airbag - used in conjunction with a so called deactivator bar available as tequipment part - which when coded with a tester allows the airbag to be switched off when not required.
For removal, the airbag trim is split in half horizontally and secured with screws underneath, you have to remove the knee pad, undo the screws then pull the trim down and apart. The top section is held with screws also.
Once the cover is off, you can see the airbag securing screws.
