Does anyone else remember this time last year?

When their car was brand new, had the latest number plate, had just had a cover removed and was oh so special?

It seems such a long time away now - can't believe it's old..

Mind you, I have had 13,000 wonderful miles in it, looks just as gorgeous, has loosened up somewhat and I'm starting to get used to driving it without worrying so much!

Ooo, look at that!

In the bottom left of that picture is that a dial that adjusts the intensity of the lamp cluster? Excellent - I never knew it had that and was looking for such a thing!

DOH!

Pikey,

I remember you were thinking of a Targa, any news on that front or are you staying with the Cayman?

I saw a new Targa parked at Calais, wondered if it was Pike but it wasn't.

Okay so before now you have admitted to being sad but you sir are not even close to spending the 3 hours after you put the car to bed that first night reading the manuel from cover to cover. If you have you'd have found that months ago

Nope, KayC told me I couldn't have one and I really value his opinion

Actually, although it was a really lovely car, the numbers just didn't work. The depreciation on selling the 2 year old Cayman and then the instant hit from buying another new v.expensive car made us consider other options. The decision we came to was to keep the Cayman and purchase Ecurie25 membership. Best of both worlds!

The Targa was superb though. As a grand tourer (which is the primary use of our "toy" car), we thought it hit the mark. We were comparing that against the AMV8, and our choice was firmly in favour of the T4S (even if has nothing on the asthetics of the AM). It's a damn fine car.. even if KayC wouldn't have one

Well now I'm feeling robbed.
When I picked up my Cayman S last saturday it had 13 miles on the clock. Outrageous!!
(Although now it's up to 480 miles after the first weekend!).

What a fantastic car. I absolutely love the way it sticks to the road like glue.
Can't imagine how good it will be when the engine has loosened up....

I can see what you mean - I'd go back in and ask where they were with those extra 2 miles

Oh, and if you love yours now, just don't go out with anyone round Snetterton in a GT3 RS... when you get back in the Cayman, you'll think it's slow and wallowy

I think you are right in keeping the Cayman..i reckon it will go down as one of the most desirable Porsches everrolleyesand probably go up in value when everyone realises what a totally awesome car it is.Have they launched the 1.3 litre version yet?

Hi Pikey,
As per our previous discussions when I was thinking about it I was governed by a monthly budget as this will be my new company car so I ended up with the 2.7 Cayman in meteor grey with the 18" S wheels, rear park sensors (for the missus of course) and used up the last pennies on a sports steering wheel, local OPC have done really well for me as it was only ordered about 5 weeks ago but they squeezed me in a build slot and its here on Friday so have taken a rare day off to enjoy.

So did you find the knob that converts the digital speedo to km/h for those European jaunts?

Yes, but that's a complicated sequence of button pushes through the computer so I found that. Simple knobs I have problems with (Oo..err.. missus! )
