You should have listed them at 5p then. You 'might' have sold one or two at 5p...
Rarely do I make a comment on the price someone is asking for something but you would have to be a complete muppet, not to mention seriously deluded to pay £10,000 for a questionable telephone number worth less than 1/20 of that figure.
Ignore the advert. I`ll do better:
For £10,000 I`ll sort you out with a Porsche related number for your phone, sort you out with a mobile phone to put the sim card in, get it all up and running for you, and leave the phone on the passenger seat of your very own Porsche. Yep, that`s right you`ll get both a phone and a Porsche within the price.
Pistonheads is a forum for discusion & debate. Occasionally people come on here with spare bits and bobs they need shot of, some posters, myself included, have commercial operations related to the world of Porsches. But you have come along, tried to hype up a couple of free sim cards your son got hold of, then attempted to sell them in the most greedy of fashion.
In the good old days both of your threads would have been pulled instantly.
For those un-aware sealy tools are widely available at innumerable outlets throughout the UK including national outlets such as machine mart, just google them.
Sorry if I sound harsh but this just isn`t in the spirit of the game. IMHO.

I'm actually with Henry on this one, the numbers are a joke, all it makes me think if I dial a private person who has a porsche, ferrari or BMW related no is lucky sod that was a coincedence bet it makes his number easy to remember, if I then find out they PAID for it my attitude changes to what a sad git!
RE. Selling things on the forums just don't do it, we all move on small bits and bobs that may be of use to fellow pistonheaders, but it is hard to get them to see them, I did it a while ago with a 944 heater, BUT all I asked was a small voluntary donation I wasn't selling I was clearing my garage, sometimes I get things that won't do well on ebay so I'd sooner see my friends on here get a bargain than bin it, your trying to make money out of this and it isn't really on.

Wait just a minute! Are you saying this guy was seriously selling these numbers???? Get out of town -- I thought it was a clever piece of sarcasm to highlight how some porsche owners pay for numberplates like "P132RSH" and "B542XTR" etc...
But he's actually a serious vendor.

You aving a laugh!
I got my 911 911 number by simply asking Orange if they could find one for me. Dealers were no use, but the guy I got at Orange themselves was very helpful. I wasn't in a rush and it probably took up to 4 weeks until he had exactly what I wanted (previously got offered 911 912 and 100 100 etc).
I've had it over 4 years and have to say it has been invaluable from a business point of view (even though I deal with more BMWs now than Porsches). From that point of view it's worth far more than the £300+VAT I was supposed to be charged for it, but not sure I'd have paid more at the time.
The numbers mentioned will date though, when the 998(?) or whatever comes out. Either way, I'd try Orange rather than pay £10,000. You never know, they may have 996 996 or 997 997 or even another 911 911 number and the highest they charge (AFAIK) is £300.

If the posting had been asking what we thought they were worth then I think that's ok but as it is the only place for this is the classifieds...

BINGO and we've already had a thread on this.
Good luck with the sales, but use the classifieds next time.
