Heard today that the current 997 GT3 will be built until November 2007 after which the revised version will come. I also heard it will have 440 PS [3.8 litres?] and also possibly the new DSG gearbox.

Have any of you additional insights?

If the above is true, I guess many 997 GT3 and especially current 997 GT3RS owners wont be too happy given the short timespan of the current modell.

It's possible, but any changes seem more likely for 09 MY.

Where did you get your info, last I heard the 997 'facelift' and DSG were scheduled for Sept '08.

Can't be true! I would be seriously p%ssed off if I had waited 2 years+ in some cases, then they seriously enhance the model. 3.8 litres and dsg is not just a facelift.

Also, I don't think they'll move to 3.8l for the extreme engines yet, as they use the 3.6 from the GT1 racer at the moment, and the 3.8 unit isnt as strong.

Based on past form the standard cars will be face-lifted first before the GT3's anyway no big deal if it proves roght (which I doubt it will)what's a few extra horses on a car this fast on UK roads?

Same thing as if you bought a computer and by the time it was delivered you find out you can get the same one but 10% faster for the same price. Just a bit annoying, but the price of progress..

Know for sure that Porsche wont release another version for quite some time. Just for refernce have a look at the 996 mk1 and the mk2, atleast a good 2 years between them.
