A work colleague doesnt need his hardtop, he has an ocean blue 996 and is looking to sell it. Before he sticks it on Ebay just thought I would ask if anyone from PH wants/needs one and what the going rate is at the moment so he knows what to expect.
Cheers
Mike
Sell mine too while you're at it ! I took it off the day after I brought my car and have never used it since, it's currently under an inch of dust upstairs in my factory !
If you / your friend still owns the 996 for christ`s sake don`t sell the hardtop. They were a standard fitment and so if you go to sell the car the next owner will expect it to come with the car (and indeed is the reason many people go down the 996 cab route. If the car hasn`t got the hard top you`ll get kicked in the nuts possibly by as much as £2,000 (and you`ll not get anything like that for the hard top).

Good point Henry - when i considered a convertible, one of the plus points was the hard top as it seems to rain up here in Scotland every second day and with me not having a garage - it would have been essential in the purchase that it indeed had a Hard-top.
Ultimately, anyone who know the spec of what they are buying, wouldn't want to buyy a cpnvertible that was missing a part that came with the car as standard unless it was sold at a significant discount.
Also the fact every 996 Cabriolet has one restricts saleability and hence the price you can get for it!
A quick £500 now to be slapped £2000 later.... no brainer!
my pal bought one for 450 off ebay, leave it in the garage
Its part of the car, don,t sell it,as its really annoying when people sell hard tops tool kits manuals etc...tell him to keep it for the next owner.

Will tell him, I nver knew they were standard, I thought they were an expensive option, as I remember when I ordered my Boxster S the hardtop was about £2500 IIRC.
No worries Im sure he will keep it given this info, cheers guys.
