Hi folks,

I think my a/c control unit or an interior heat sensor is playing up. I suspect this as if I whack the temp past 25C, the passenger side vent (near the window) doesn't have any air flow coming out of it*. Also, after a little while, the air seems to feel cooler rather than constantly hot as I'd expect whilst set in manual mode. Same thing happens when it's set to 'auto'.

I'm quite sensitive to heat and generally find anything over 21C in a car too warm for me. My car doesn't feel 'hot' till it's set to at least 26C+ at the moment so something doesn't seem quite right.

The car has been like this for the 6 months or so I've had it. The A/C system was checked for leaks (none-found) and re-gassed at the weekend. The cars coolant system is fine hence why I think its the heater control unit and/or a temp sensor.

Any guesses as to what might be going on in the machine??

Cheers,

Steve

hello

the interior cabin sensor may be the cause located in the passanger side of the dash where the blanking cover is for the light switch for left hand drive cars....done 2 of these now for similar problem...would need to put it on a pst2 tester to confirm by looking at actual values.

hope this helps

Mike,

Many thanks for the reply and pointer. If it is a sensor, is it a simple fix?

Cheers,

Steve
