Got to hold my hands up..had the 996tt serviced by the OPC in Tonbridge today, spoke to James..very helpful guy and the car went through unscathed at £825 including a plug change..maybe the OPC's are ok after all?n.b..they never noticed the ecu upgrade either but i dont know if their checks would spot that?..

sounds very reasonable with the plugs.

Don't think the ECU shows up on their machine but it does on the test drive

The geezer who dropped it off looked a bit pale..i had to check and see if the Metropole blue drivers seat had gained a brown additionlaugh

News shocker - No lube tube required by Kayc!

Kayc says 'I take it all back, OPC are fantastic value and a swell bunch of fair guys'

Best double check it actually went through its service and not an extended test drive

James is a truly TOP CHAP. Always superb with my TT.

Plus a GRRC member, good combination.

I would have been surprised if that was for a 48,000 mile service.
36,000 mile sounds about right, with £500 on top for the plug change alone. That is an obscene figure for what is essentially just 2 plugs out of the 6 which are hard to get to.

Have you noticed an improvement in the performance? I know when I took mine in for that service I said I didn't think it was quite going fast enough, and they went pale and seemed to take it very seriously that someone was questioning the performance of a tt (unlike when my M5 went in with bad MAFs and I nearly had to beat them with an iron bar before they took me seriously and changed them).

Anyhow, I don't know if it was the new plugs or if they turned the "speed" dial round to eleven but it was like an animal when I picked it up
