Bit of advice needed please.... confused

Am just about to take delivery of an 03 Boxster S with 25K mile that will need a minor service fairly soon. Should get this done by my local OPC to "keep the stamps up to date", or on that age of car am I better off going the indy route (which I prefer personally)? I guess the question is "will I get nailed on resale if I go down the indy route?"

How about do the menu based service only with the OPC and anything else use the Indy?

Have considered that, but figure a good indy would be a) cheaper and b) better workmanship.......

I agree. However an indy doesn't provide you with the hallowed OPC Stamp.

I dont think it matters from the resale point of view..personally i dont trust any of them to do a good job(without a bit of a jackanory)therefore i use an OPC ..its easier to get them to admit to balls-ups with the threat of ugly letters to head office than it is to an independent whose not being monitored..cynical but in my case thats what i do..

at what age do you think it doesnt matter anymore though and you should just go from opc to an indy?

I reckon the answer will be different for many of us. For me personally, If two identical cars were for sale, one with a full OPC SH and one with a mixture of OPC/Indy I would most likely prefer the full OPC SH car. Subject to due dilligence of what work had been carried out by the OPC during the previous owners tenure.

On the BMW E39 I am chopping in for it, I moved from BMW to independent at approx 5 years & 50K miles old - it has 110k on it now, so it's value is in the ditch irrespective of whether it has an offical service history. However, I guess BMW's are more sensitive to having the "official" stamps in the service book, as they are a lot more commoditised than Pork.......
