Felt compelled to sing some praises. After picking up my first porsche on Monday, i contacted Sports and Classic Ltd with a view to getting some serious work done. The clutch was real heavy, oil was leaking out of the rear main seal and the coolant expansion tank had what was described by Strasse as a "wee crack". After driving around Mobberley a little we found Yarwood House farm, where Michael, a most affable man carries out his business. I had also read on here about the poor quality headlights on Porsches generally, and the merits of these gas jobies. So my new baby was left on the farm and off i went, somewhat concerned about my competence in car purchasing.

Next day - somewhat surprised Michael called - i thought "here we go" - usual rising bil and added cmplication. BUT NONE OF IT...just a courtesy call to let me know how work was proceeding and options for the HD light kit. The guy has a genuine interest in customer care - which was born out again when last night we returned to the farm to get the old beast back.

Clutch replaced
Rear main seal renewed
Plug tubes and ignition coils replaced
Expansion tank replaced
A 12K service
Headlights looking like something out of Star Wars - they really are good - highly recommend
Intermediate shaft housing replaced
Heatshields all fettled

.....and blow me down a full valet - inside and out

THE CAR LOOKED BEAUTIFUL

It might not be appropriate to go into cost - suffice to say that it was cheaper than I had previously been quoted, and that was without the HD lights and service.

Well done Mike - Great Job and in my opinion head and shoulders above certain other so called porsche specialists.

Well done - though I hope the car with knackered clutch, leaking rms and cracked header tank was cheap to start with!!

yes

I posted a similar thread a few weeks back after Mike sorted out the 48K service on my 993. What I didn't say afterwards was that he had the car back the following week to sort a problem with a lack of brake lights - then wouldn't charge me for the replacement switch or the cost of fitting it.

I'd strongly recommend Sports and Classic to anyone in the north west looking for an independent Porsche specialist.
