Is this a 911 or 964?
Discussion
Been busy this weekend, bought myself a new project. It’s a 911/964 Porsche. It needs a little bit of attention but all in all it looks the dog’s danglies.
The previous owner had owned this car for 7 years, it is still on Belgium plates and believe it or not he never registered the car over here.
When he bought it, it was a 3.0 litre LHD white targa that needed some attention. Apparently, he booked the car in with a local independent Porsche garage intending to have the vehicle fully restored but ended up having the car converted from left hand drive to right, from a targa to a convertible and then while he was at it he put on a full wide bodied Turbo 964 bumper and arch kit, and finished it off with a full bare metal re-spray in the stunning colour of "Iris blue". It started life as a 1979 SC Targa.
At this time the car had a slightly ropey 3.0 litre engine which was then promptly exchanged for the bullet proof 3.2 engine. It has also had a new clutch, a recon gearbox and a new steering rack that’s been recently fitted and has just passed its MOT. The car also benefit’s from a full 964 grey leather interior inc the door cards, dashboard and clocks. There is a set of 964 cup alloys to complement the look.
Due to the fact that there are so many different parts from different models fitted kind of losing track on what is 911 and what has been modified. What I would like to do is take it to an independent Porsche specialist who can put the car up on the ramps and can give the car a full and proper inspection, listing what engine I have and from what model of car it originated from and likewise with the rest of the car, plus a detailed list of what it needs doing to it to bring it back to its former glory.
Does anyone know someone in Milton Keynes / Bedfordshire area?

Many Thanks
Brendan

erm, Brendan, when you say "former glory", do you mean as a 3.0 LHD white targa? Or as a 3.0 RHD white Cab... or as a 3.2RHD cab... or as a... 3.2RHD Targa... or...
Whatver it is, sounds like it would be a mighty expensive re-conversion! Car looks good as it is... I'd probably just work on getting it in top mechanical condition and enjoying it!
