hello all

Just pruchased my first Porsche and due to pick it up this thursday... Cant wait ... its the 550 anniversary model. Can anyone tell me about the Porsche Factory Power Kit fitted?? Is there more bhp? does it make a difference with the 0-60, taking into consideration the short shift gear box?

Is there anything else i should know about the car or Porsche in general

Cheers

Power went from 260bhp to 266bhp, certainly not due to a powerkit, it was just a bit of tweaking of the breathing apparatus for marketing rather than engineering purposes (although no one complains at a few more horses and its good for a bit of oneupmanship down the wine bar). Performance increases are so small as to be irrelevant.

The anniversary was however good value because it was basically the fantastic Boxster S with a bunch of popular options (plus a bunch that no one needed) added for less than the cost of speccing them individually.

The GT silver paintwork and seal grey painted alloys are a matter of taste IMHO.

The underlying car is fantastic though so enjoy the upcoming summer.

i had an 04 anniversary having previously owned a ZM coupe and an M5 and replaced it with a 996 tt. fantastic car with majestic handling and acoustic accompaniment. capable of out manoervering cars which have more bhp. i fondly remember drifting the car with ultimate confidence on a regular basis. confidence inspiring especially when geometery set up properly. cant do that yet with the 996TT!!! 550 s gearbox is still one of my favourites. great value too. enjoy enjoy enjoy.
