Looking to change to an 997 RS in six months time or so. Current 997 GT3 done around 4k appx miles over 4 months. What is the average mileage for a porker a year before depreciation gets ridiculous please ? My car is a daily drive.

thanks alot...

Why not look at the mileages of 996 GT3's ?

Lowest seem to be around 8,000.

Highest seem to be around 30,000.

Newest seem to be 2005.

Oldest seem to be second half 2003 ?

So from 3000 miles to 10,000 miles per year ?

It's the high mileage cars that seem to be selling at mid £40's --- but low mileage (and sometimes newer) cars are only worth £10k more ?

Average mileages on 997 GT3s are likely to be higher because they are so viable for regular day to day use and touring.

If you are selling after 10 months ownership, residuals should still be pretty healthy, and under 10k mls should be ok.

Thing is, what's best - using and enjoying the car and getting a bit less for it, or keeping it garaged to get a bit more?

Using and enjoying for sure.

I've generally managed to achieve both by running two "fun" cars at the same time.

The second "fun" car doesn't have to be expensive -- Clio Trophy ?

And there are places where I would not chooose to park the GT3 ...

...thanks all - space prohibits me having two cars. I probably run the GT3 until about 7kmiles then sell in 4 months - without taking a painful slug of depreciation - I hope !
