Looking for general comments on OPC East London.

Have my car booked in for next Monday for an early 20k service (done 18.5k), an alignment check and also finally to get a PSE fitted. Had a 15min conversation with their service guys who gave me all the correct prices, detailed work spec, booked the car in within 7 days and offered to collect the car and drop off a courtesy Boxster. They reckon a Monday morning collection should get me the car back for Wednesday lunchtime. Up to now seems very professional and impressive.

Never used East London before - live 15 mins from OPC Chiswick but refuse to use them (very long story....) - so is this all likely to happen as planned or will I get the usual OPC treatment: car gets picked up late, no courtesy available, work takes a week and the final price is double the original quoted.

Cheers.

I live closer to Chiswick but work close to East London too - I'd recommend the East London service dept, Lee Howe has always been fair with me and they are happy to deliver and pick up etc. Maybe they deal with lots of impatient types in the City who'll walk if they get the pi$$ taken.
As for Chiswick, they still think that they're doing us a favour by selling us one of their cars. It also appears that they can only receive incoming calls too.

Don't get me started on them.... Let's just say when I had my previous 997 I used to have their Dealer Principal's number on my speed dial.... Never again.

yes my experience too, think it's all part of Porsche's profit maximisation strategy, they'll be using 0898 numbers next...

ERIK - Let us know how you fair with East London. An OPC contact told me to "avoid" Chiswick especially as I was new to P ownership! God only knows what that says about them. They advised Hatfield even though East London would be closer for me.

Slightly off the OP point but have nothing bad to say or recount about Reading. Richard Singleton seems to run a tight ship and this is reflected in the chaps in Service.

Also, went for a No 1 in Chiswick recently on the way into town for the rugby and the look of disgust on the receptionists' faces when I said 'no thanks, just using the loo' spoke volumes. And I have used them before and know where the loos are; should have been a clue with a C4 Cab outside in full view....

They are unbelieveable in Chiswick.

ps - Another point is that I was sitting with an advisor and he treated the technician that was looking and working on the car like something he had stepped in - Not good (Chiswick)

To be fair, walking in and just having a slash is a bit much

Just because you own a porsche, doesnt give you the right to use the toilet every time!

Its like turning up at your plumbers to take a dump

Not to mention risky, you might walk in with a full bladder and walk out without the 10k that you put down on a GT3 deposit.

Will let you know how I get on. OPC Chiswick are just the biggest bunch of muppets I've dealt with (painful history with them...) so will be interesting to see how East London are.

Bought two cars from one guy at OPC Mayfair who are fantastic but unfortunately they don't have a service capability. Talking to the guy there even he recommended not to use Chiswick which speaks volumes... They recommended East London or Hatfield.

Hatfield are alright but not great. I turned up and they didn't have a courtesy car for me, even though I booked it a month in advance. "Sorry Sir but we sold it during the week." A call would have been nice. "We can get you another courtesy car for next weekend if you like. Do you want to come back then?" Great, after driving 30 mins to get there.

Get there the following weekend and the guy was apologising and offered to pay for the insurance which I had to take out myself for the courtesy car with my own insurance co. However, when I come to collect the car and pay for the service, there is no further mention of it.
