A nice 964 Turbo S on this site...

www.germansportscars.de/shoper.html

Wasn't there a RHD one sold in the UK not so long ago?

Paragon sold the only rhd Speed Yellow one in 2004.

I think Gtclassics has sold one since then.

Having been one of the rare priveledged few to have driven a rhd 964 Turbo S lwt, I can only say they are quite simply the greatest 911 experience going. Distilled anarchy is the best way of describing what happens when you keep your right foot burried and the needle hits 3k rpm.

I recently 'found' one of these rare beasties sitting in a collection close by me.
I know not many exist but this is a Slate Grey one I have never seen before.
I have seen the yellow one and one in black. Any idea how many rhd were sold in the UK ?
I have a feeling there aren't many.....

8 rhd.

There was one Speed Yellow...I think it is based in Kent, around Maidstone possibly.
There were two Black cars that I am aware of.

I dont know the others.

...dug up an old article in the Porsche World Mag with a Black RHD 964 TS which used to be owned by Nick Faldo...at the time there was no documentation in any of these at ADs in the UK...all customer had to pick them up from the Stuttgart factory at a stagering 125,000 GBP back in 93. Fast forward 14 years and this leftee is asking 150K Euros....wow....

It is singular that the same car is offered by the same seller in two different web sites at two different asking prices:

www.germansportscars.de/shoper.html

http://home.mobile.de/SIDNY6J-MSfRqdR

It does not sound very professional to me!

Vic, two different sites obviously not an issue, I think our friend is questioning Thomas' pricing strategy ........

what would be fair value? These are rarities and I assume they would go for hefty premiums...no?

Well in '04 Paragon had the Speed Yellow rhd car up for £60k ish.

That one being sold in the links is at a hefty price tag. Of far, far better value is the '89 3.2 with the 965 engine in. With 385ponies, it is the same engine as the 964TSlwt and he has also spent a lot of money on the carbon bits and put the 3.6T brakes on. In fact, whoever did that car spent *a lot* of money on it. At 39k Euros, it is an absolute bloody bargain!

Come on guys, I am sure that you are well aware of the "UK" effect, in many markets, rare Porsche included!

I think that there is no question at all about the rarity of this beast.
I am only wondering the fact that "you-the buyer" are asked to pay or save 10K euros depending on the advertise you are replying to...
At this time, I am happy NOT to be in the UK, but is this the question? I don't think so...
Any convincing explanation for this "UK effect"?

An explanation? Must be the keen market

Seems far nicer than the H+S car and a good deal cheaper to boot. As much as I love 3.6 Turbo 2s (and I love them a lot), you'd have to be colour blind to get used to that triple magenta interior with it's >ahem< 'individual' steering wheel. It looks like Miss Piggy's handbag exploded in there. Awful.

Loach, hard to compare values directly, the ex Faldo Gmund car was sold over a year ago...the values of rare air cooled Porsche seemed to have gone up since, I very much doubt the Faldo/Gmund S would be available at £60k if it came to the market today.
