It may only be a dream for now, but I want to find out more about these if you will indulge...

Seems the pre impact bumper cars are prettier but flexier (and tricker to handle). True?

I'm not after a fast one. Will £10K get me something OK?

Can you get racks to go on the engine cover (see - I didn't call it a boot) to put stuff (well a dissembled bike actually) on?

Any other advice welcome. I was asking q's about MX5's a couple of months ago and got one...now I've got some more money burning a hole in my pocket, and a long held dream

TIA

Probably need to be more specific, there are Targas going back loads of years all very different. For 10k Im sure you can get an SC or 3.2 and maybe even a 964, pre impact will be much more expensive. Dont know about the boot rack but think Ive seen something similar

cheers. I prefer the pre impact bumper ones but accept they may be out of reach. Like them old and unmolested, so no spoiler, flared wheel arches etc. So you are saying 3.2 or SC are cheaper models?

They are affordable in a targa shape which usually comes at a discount to the other models

...and you can probably fit one of those 356 type racks on the back too

Don't forget that the targa flexes more, especially in pre 1981 guise and as such might exhibit more tub rot than the equivalent coupe.

I'd buy on condition - don't rule out lhd either. But make sure you or someone who knows what they are doing has a good dig around the car.

hmmmm thanks. Been reading up a bit. So the 3.2 and CS are the least desirable models? As they get older/younger they get more expensive?
