996 Tiptronic Gearbox

In my C4S's Tiptronic gearbox, when you set off it always starts in 2nd gear, is this normal?? I can get it into 1st by kicking down hard, or pressing the - button on the steering wheel. Can you reprogram the gearbox to start in 1st? Thoughts please......

All start in 2nd.

I recently popped it down to 1st and pinned it, found myself doing donuts, lol

Yes - always starts in 2nd to avoids embarrassing collisions with cars in front at traffic lights. I think it will start in 1st if you thrash it into "sports" mapping, then brake to a standstill, and start off again within the 8 seconds it takes to change the mapping back.
