Hi
My 996 aircon doesn't seem to be very cool any more. Presumably it's due for a re-gas given the car is a 99

I am automatically assuming that the OPCs will charge me a comedy price to do this.. Thus, can anyone relay good experiences of companies in the Thames Valley/Berkshire area that could do this for me?
Many thanks
Jon

Same here, '02 car and not getting cool. OPC Cambridge qouted me £200 and need the car for half a day. Be interested to see what comes up on this thread.

I had my 996 regassed by a local a/c firm. Needed some parts, replaced under warranty by my OPC, then I had it regassed again by the local company.

If it's not under warranty (the pipes aren't anyway) I'd get it done by a local company.

on a 99 car if you've never replaced the condensors, you may have to.

Leaves collect in the front and the condensors go permeable / rot.

Do you have any thin oil leaks / stains under the front?

cheers

Thanks for all comments and suggestion so far.
Re the condensers rotting- anything is possible, but the car has only done 30k miles + I recently tried to de-floss the radiators and there was almost nothing in there, so not sure things are rotting away yet (hopefully)

So, someone must know a good company on my doorstep so I don't have to travel!??? ...
cheers

£200 for a regas ! i cahrge £50 including the tracer dye...damm they can charge.

I would only charge £85 for a regas tracer dye and air con evaporatr unit clean with pollen filter replacement.
