I am looking to sell my 911 (996) 02 Targa and I want some advice as to the best place to advertise - I have it on Autrotrader.com, but am considering The Times as well. Any ideas for the best place to sell?

I think the best places are AutoTrader (widest general public audience) and on here (widest enthusiasts audience).

You might also try on 911uk.com though.

The Times is very expensive but I've advertised three cars with them and two have been sold on the same day the advert appeared.

The Sunday Times - a well worded ad, sensible price, very effective. Not cheap though.

Haven't done it myself but I would consider eBay too.
Just as an advertising medium though, I wouldn't start an auction on there for my car. Again a huge audience.

I put my Boxster for sale on here, just to test the water, sold it the next morning!

I guess that proves my point then. Incidentally, I saw my car first advertised on eBay.

You can put a classified ad on Ebay now, its something like £12 for 28 days. It'll save you answering loads of questions like 'whats your reserve' and ' what will you take for it'.

Good luck with the sale, i have a 964 Targa on Ebay, Autotrader and Pistonheads classifieds and all i've had are tyre kickers and messers. More than any car i've ever sold before!

You need better photos in the advert.

A serious buyer will look at your profile, check the posts you made and see the problem you had with the roof, so maybe you should go back to that thread and let everybody know what the outcome was?

Hope that helps.
