replace camchain and tensioner slipper

Isn't it possible that a new chain could alarmingly increase the wear of not new cam shafts' sprockets ?
To put it another way wouldn't it be preferable to replace the cam shafts as well when replacing the chain ?

Just asking because I found this interesting article.

Thanks for that Thom, that's really set my mind at ease
I did actually ask if the cam sprockets were worn and Bob seemed to think they were ok - however the chain had stretched by 10mm!

You're absolutely right Thom. If the camshaft sprockets have already started to wear because the chain has stretched then just adding a new chain will not help matters, you need new cams as well at circa 350 quid each

Luckily my mechanic told me my sprockets were 100%, my chain had minimal stretch, and the plastic ramp was barely scratched. I suspect I was not the first to have it replaced
