As you may have guessed from the title this has something to do with my dashboard. Basicaly it reflects quite badly on to the windscreen, for some reason it apears to be gloss black rather than matt.

Any one else suffered from this and more importantly come up with a cheap but tidy solution or better still know were I can get a replacement non reflective dash from?

When I was looking for my car I came across a number that had shiny dash syndrome. I think it's caused by previous owners getting a bit carried away with these trim dresing products from Halfords in an effort to make their car look really desirable

I would try a good long scrub with warm water and pure soap. Vanish do a solid soap in the washing powder section in supermarkets - looks like a deodorant stick. Get your Missus to go into this section if you are embarressed

Alternatively buy a trim dressing product yourself but read the box carefully to make sure it leaves a matt finish.

Cheers for the advice, looks like a shopping trip is on the cards.

PS I like the advice regarding shopping embaresment, sadly I'm single at the mo. Which means I have to take a deep breath and look the shop assistant straight in the eye when ever I buy something just a tad embarasing..........
