Of all the people owning a straight 996 GT2 this morning, how many still have one now?

Silver example spotted on a transporter this morning M25J10 with a modified front end...

Anyone on here?

With only 129 UK RHD Cars produced and so many in various types of accidents confused I wonder how many actual good, original cars are left...

With prices firming up of late along with their exclusivity, hopefully original cars may well become depreciation proof? or is this just wishful thinking...

Looking at the current cars available (the ones I know of), average prices work out as follows:

2002 GT2 Basalt Black £62950.00 (Autotrader Private Sale)
2002 GT2 Arctic Silver £63995.00 (Aria Motor Company)
2002 GT2 Rainforest Green £72995.00 (Paragon)
2003 GT2 Basalt Black £72950.00 (William Loughran)
2004 GT2 Atlas Grey £78995.00 (Swifts Sheffield) ***DAMAGED***
MKI GT2 Arctic Silver £79995.00 (Specialist Cars Malton)

Not including Malton's GT650RS this would give an average price of £71980.00 which seems fairly reasonable IMO.

I love my GT2- Ive only had it 4 weeks but already its gone in for
a Cargraphic Exhaust system,Diverter valves with ECU upgrade,GEO set up
and new tyres

I drove my friends 997 Turbo this morning - a quick ,easy car to drive but not as Involving
as a GT2 -

one of the bargains of 2007 - they cost £129,000 new !!!

You would say that! Not that you've got one to sell any more hehe

Who are you, btw? Don't recognise the name from Bristol... Can you PM me please about your thoughts on the PCCB thread?

OK so its not difficult to prove no serious accident damage, (on ramps, PU's off, full inspection, etc) but how do they tell no trackday use ?

Peter Morgan inspected a GT3 RS I sourced for a client and they agreed it had had no trackday use (as the seller had also stated) in so much as there were no obvious signs of excessive brake dust on the underside, bluing (blueing?) of the discs etc.

I think it can only be considered "best opinion" as we all know it's possible to thrash a car far more on the road than some people ever would on a track, but the conclusion would be the same in effect - in so much as the car without the signs of heavy use indicating it hasn't seen a track would still be a better car even if someone has pussied around a few laps, than a car heavily thrashed but only ever on the road.

...has anyone had the band 2 overrevs checked on their cars. Can this indicate track day use? How many band2 changes would indicate track use/ abuse?

It's possible to wrong slot the box on the road as well as on the track, so no definitive proof of trackday use really IMO

...fair enough. Is there an excepted number of overrevs that is considered bad bearing in mind that gt2/3's are generally driven quite hard.

by that logic, so long as nobody power washes the underside of the car or skims/replaces the discs then the car has not been on track angel
